READ: DOT-III’s PAMANA brings Central Luzon’s living culture into the spotlight

PAMANA: Gabi ng Parangal marked the culmination of Pamanang Gitnang Luzon: Parangal sa Manlilikhang Natatangi, an initiative of the Department of Tourism – Region III that pays tribute to the people and communities who have quietly carried Central Luzon’s living traditions through decades of practice, sacrifice, and devotion.
The evening held special meaning for many of the awardees, some of whom have spent a lifetime practicing and safeguarding their traditions away from public attention. For years, they sustained traditional performing arts, craftsmanship, culinary practices, and community rituals without expectation of awards, passing on knowledge simply to ensure that these traditions would not fade.
As names were called and stories were shared, the ceremony reflected the significance of honoring lives dedicated to upholding cultural practice. It was a moment of long-overdue recognition, gratitude, and pride for the awardees, their families, and the communities they represent.
This awards night captured the deep commitment of individuals and groups who have kept local traditions alive across generations. It also served as a reminder that cultural preservation is a shared responsibility and that recognizing those who have devoted their lives to heritage gives meaning to the future we continue to build.
