DOT-III Reinforces Commitment to Sustainable Development at Mt. Samat FTEZ Meeting

Convened on March 18, 2026, the Management Committee Meeting of the Mt. Samat Shrine Site FTEZ was held at the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City, with participation from the Department of Tourism – Region III (DOT-III).

The meeting focused on updates from the Information and Programs Technical Working Committee (IPTWC), project briefs, and collaborative efforts to advance Mt. Samat as a premier heritage and sustainable tourism destination.

DOT-III provided recommendations on key initiatives, including the Zero Waste Declaration and the development of a Green Transportation System, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability, cultural preservation, and inclusive development. It also reiterated its continued support for the strategic directions of the Mt. Samat FTEZ, emphasizing sustained inter-agency collaboration to ensure effective program implementation and to strengthen further Mt. Samat’s role as a model for sustainable tourism in Central Luzon.
