The Department of Tourism Region III Office’s (DOT-III) participation in the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children

The Department of Tourism Region III Office’s (DOT-III) participation in the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children officially launched on 25 November 2025, at the heart of Olongapo City, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Olongapo City through its tourism office and Gordon College.
The kick-off program was held at Gordon College where various stakeholders, partners from the LGU and private sectors, academe, and students assembled to support the program. The ceremony was graced and supported by the Olongapo City Mayor, Hon. Atty. Rolen Paulino Jr., together with all of the city’s participating offices and units. DOT-III Regional Director Daenos led the commencement of the advocacy walk where all the attendees journeyed toward the ‘Ulo ng Apo’ monument for the traditional “Orange-your-Icon”.
After the ceremonial “Orange-your-Icon” lighting of the ‘Ulo ng Apo’, the advocacy walk continued toward the SM City Olongapo Central for the participants’ One Billion Rising Dance to End Violence Against Women.
The DOT-III, LGU-Olongapo City, and Gordon College’s collective effort shares the vision of a VAW-free community, where a culture of respect and equality is fostered.
