The Department of Tourism Region III Office (DOT-III) fully supports the Baler Surf Fest, a week-long celebration of waves, culture, music, and surf competition all happening at the birthplace of Philippine Surfing.

Alongside the Baler Surf Fest is the return of the Baler International Pro, which features the World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 4000 and a Longboard Qualifying Series (LQS) for 126 participating athletes across the Philippines and other countries.

DOT-III Division Chief, Ms. Ronsan M. Pelariza, participated in the press conference earlier today highlighting the role of tourism in promoting sports tourism and, at the same time, sustainability and coastal protection. DC Pelariza underscored the province of Aurora’s readiness to host international events. International sporting events such as the Baler International Pro, strengthen Central Luzon’s identity as a premier sports tourism destination most especially in Baler where surfing is deeply rooted in the municipality’s identity.
